IBIZA – Eivissa… The third largest of the Balearic islands, Ibiza lies approximately 79km off the Spanish coast, with its closest mainland neighbour being Valencia. Perhaps the last Republic on Earth, founded on a reputation for piracey, the culturs stll bears the scars of a centuries old struggle for Catalan independance later day from the Franco Catholic Terror. Made infamous by the counter-culture of the 60′s, the more southerly part of the island has now for several years been associated with young adults and a very hedonistic clubbing scene.

Further North However… you could be in a different country altogether. The north, famous for its’ Bohemian resident, has inspired a multitude of sins enacted out via the Summer Ritual of Clubbing & Parties. This part of Ibiza, which stretches for over 220 square miles, embraces a much slower paced, more rural, traditional lifestyle, largely inhabited by the Payes farming families, much of what has been lost on other Baleric islands has been protected here by a fierce matrix of family loyalty & corruption.

If You Ever Visited Ibiza… you will know of the virtues of this magic island, where “live and let live” is very present in daily life. Ibiza, a land in which Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs and Christians, have lived has a history streaching over 4 Millenia, although lately it has been noted that the many historical ruins of significant importance & value were lying unearthed, the aqusationbeing that Ibiza onlywant to portray a culture founded on Modern Catholosium whilst denying its unique & divers culture & roots.

Ibiza will be Earth’s final refuge’ – predicts Nostradamus  - According to the predictions of Nostradamus, the 15th century French astrologer & physician, when nuclear disaster wipes out most life on Earth, the peculiar prevailing wind patterns over Ibiza will ensure that it is the sole remaining life-supporting environment. Es Vedra is a large island rock, which legend says is where Odysseus encountered the Sirens in his epic odyssey. This small island is also a point of one of three mysterious energy triangles on earth where all navigational instruments go haywire. The Bermuda Triangle is another such place.

The island of Es Vedra… rising from the waters off Cala D’Hort supports no living thing. The Carmelite priest Don Francisco Palau, founder of the convent at Es Cubells, meticulously recorded mystical revelations and meetings with ‘unearthly beings surrounded by light’ while meditating there. Gigantic circles of light, up to 50 metres diameter, emerging from the sea have discouraged fishermen from this area. A strong magnetic force is said to emanate from Es Vedra, attracting unexplained phenomena.

Ibiza has had a peluts (hairies) scene since the 1960s…  And, you know what, they really did change the world – or at least this small part of it. A small arty community, attracted by the cheap, rural lifestyle (no traffic, no industry, no worries), already existed in Ibiza Town and villages such as San Carlos in the 1950s. Ibiza’s genuine isolation since the Spanish Civil War also meant that pioneer travellers were more than tolerated – they were positively welcomed.
