David Bowie’s “Hunky Dory” – “The Rise & Fall of Ziggy Stardust” & “Aladdin Sane” were undoubtedly some of the most influential albums of my pre-teens – And not just the genius of Bowie’s songs & concept – Mick Ronson’s cosmic guitar playing also being a big part of that experience alongside Trevor Bolder & Mick Woodmansey’s groove, yeah they played with spaced-out soul those boys.

Its hard to imagine that it was in 1972 I discovered Bowie – now 40-years on it still stands the test of every kind of time & reminds me that kids really do know what’s good for them, even at the age of 11 years old. Remember it was consider subversive to go see a Bowie gig in those days, because of his perceived bi-sexual image.

I dug out this very ruff demo I did of “Rock n Roll Suicide” - Homage to “The Man Who Sold His Bus Pass” …

I agree with Paola. I would like to hear you playing “The man who sold the world”. I love that song so much, that Miky Dunn recorded to himself at home playing that song as a birthday present for me in 2009.

Wonderful version! You should play it to David, I’m sure he’d love it. Back around Fashion I used to try to sing like Bowie. Hunky Dory was my favorite Bowie album until Station To Station came along. Thanks for sharing this.
